Warranty for WELTHAUS entry doors

DOOR FRAME and SASH:

WELTHAUS warrants the door frame and door leaf to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials, paint adhesion or workmanship under normal conditions for the first 2 years.

COMPONENTS:

WELTHAUS warrants the components of the door including hardware, locking systems, cylinders (mechanical operation and finish) to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original retail purchase.

ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC PARTS/CONTROLS

On all electrical parts/controls, or other elements which are powered, there is a 1-year warranty.

All electrical or electronic devices listed in the following sections: LED lights, EAV3 Motor from Winkhaus, Fingerprint, Codetaster -Keypad, Bluetooth, motion sensors, rain sensors, wind sensors, alarm system etc. or other elements that include electrical cables or remote transmissions have a 1-year warranty.

It is buyer’s responsibility to properly inspect the door for any defects, before installation. Every defect must be mentioned in written to the dealer from where the door has been purchased or directly to the e-mail address Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist vor Spambots geschützt! NO COMPLAINS RELATED TO THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF THE DOOR.

WE DO NOT OFFER FITTING SERVICES. The warranty being only for manufacture defects, fitting made by unauthorized personnel may damage your items and will void the warranty. Any professional fitter will provide a fitting warranty and we will work with them for any warranty claims. We will ask for a copy of the paid invoice for the fitting services and the invoice received from us along with your fitter’s details. Not having any of these items will void the warranty.

In case of DIY fitting, we will analyze each case separately.

In the event that a component fails as a result of a defect in manufacturing, materials or workmanship within the limited warranty period specified above, and upon written proof of purchase, WELTHAUS, at its option, will provide a repairing, replacement component or refund at the equivalent, as long as the original consumer purchaser owns the home in which the door was initially installed. Installation is not included. For the replacement parts the warranty is 6 months or at least the remainder of the warranty period.

Warranty claims made one (1) year after purchase are subject to a shipping and processing fee.

+/-1% tolerances vs. the contractual terms are within the acceptable limits.

Warranty Limitations:

• External influences such as fire, water, salts, alkali, acids, abnormal effects of the environment, acts of God, continuous direct exposure to sun and rain are not covered by the warranty.

• Modification of the door will void warranty.

• Damages caused by attempts to repair or re-finish the door will void the warranty.

• Damage or breakage to the screen/glass insert is not covered under warranty.

• Acts of nature including wind damage and flooding are not covered under warranty

• Damages in functionality resulting from improper installation or misuse are not covered under the warranty.

• Negligent or intentional destruction, negligent care and maintenance.

• Labor cost, reinstallation fees are not covered under warranty.

• Water damage due to lack of rain diversion or structural overhang is not covered under warranty.

• Your exclusive remedy is limited to the repair and replacement of the defective product.

• Use of non-original parts without the approval from the producer.

• Welthaus reserves the right to alter or discontinue any model, specification, warranty or price without notice.

THE FOLLOWING ASPECTS ARE NOT CONSIDERED DEFECTS AND ARE NOT COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY:

• Slight variations in the color or texture of the finish.

• Moderate color fading resulting from exposure to normal atmospheric conditions (sun, rain, etc.)

• Damage caused by a third party or something other than a defect in the manufacture or material used by WELTHAUS (i.e. abuse, improper use, vandalism, impact by a foreign object, act of God, fire or other casualty, damage caused by improper handling, storage or installation by freight carriers, distributors, installers or other parties).

• Any failure or settling of the structure/building/foundation, into which the door is installed. Please check installation instructions.

• Bubbles, lines, slight surface imperfections and slight discoloration are characteristics of fine hand-crafted glass and are not considered defects.

• Deflection (up to 1/4 inch) or minor scratches or other visual imperfections shall not be considered defects.

• Other causes beyond Welthaus’s control.

WELTHAUS WILL NOT PAY THE COSTS OF LABOR FOR THE INSTALLATION OF ANY REPLACEMENT DOOR. WELTHAUS’S MAXIMUM LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE OF THE DOOR. The duration of the original warranty will not be extended even if WELTHAUS replaces or repairs the product. Welthaus becomes the owner of the replaced parts or door.

For a long lasting use of the door:

1. Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun when it is oriented in direct sunlight using a shading system! As a rule, the door must be shaded!

Sunlight can heat surfaces especially those painted in dark colors, up to 60-100 degrees Celsius which can lead to irreparable deformities!

2. Avoid continuous exposure to rain, snow or water that can enter certain areas to freeze and destroy irreparably the door sash, glass or hardware. For this you need to protect the doors' main ares! (Top and side)

Failure to follow these instructions for use exonerates us from any liability for remediation of the property!
